Privacy Policy
Effective Date: January 1, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how North Star Marketing-Communications, Inc., doing business as Tassel® ("Tassel," "we," "our," or "us"), collects, uses, shares, and protects information in connection with the PAN™ (Parent Ambassador Network) platform (the "Service"), our website at tasselmarketing.com and pan.tasselmarketing.com, and any related applications or services.
PAN™ is licensed to K–12 schools ("Schools") to help them recruit, organize, and manage Parent Ambassador programs. Schools are our customers. School employees and Parent Ambassadors are Authorized Users. Prospective families interact with ambassadors through the platform. Schools own and control their data and are the controllers of most personal information processed through PAN™. Tassel processes that information as a service provider or data processor on behalf of each School.
1. Information We Collect
Personal Information
We collect personal information you or your School provide to us, including name, email address, phone number, role at the School, relationship to enrolled students, workplace, place of worship, professional profile links (such as LinkedIn), photos, testimonials, and communication preferences.
School Data
Schools upload or generate information within PAN™ to operate their Parent Ambassador program, including rosters of ambassadors and prospective families, program categories, grade and stage structures, matching preferences, notes, messages, invitations, and engagement history. This information is "School Data." The School owns and controls this data.
Prospective Family Information
When a prospective family submits an inquiry or interacts with a Parent Ambassador through PAN™, we collect information they provide, such as parent and student names, current grade, interests, questions asked, and communications exchanged. This information is handled on behalf of the School.
Usage Data
We collect information about how the Service is used, including pages viewed, features used, actions taken, timestamps, referring URLs, and error events. This helps us operate, secure, and improve the Service.
Device Information
We automatically collect device and connection information, including IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device identifiers, language, and time zone.
Cookies
We and our service providers use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Service, remember preferences, keep users signed in, and understand usage. See our Cookie Policy for details.
Analytics
We use analytics tools to understand aggregate usage patterns. Analytics providers may process limited technical and usage data on our behalf under contracts that restrict how that data can be used.

We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, court order, or other legal process, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, the rights of a School, the safety of any person, or to investigate suspected fraud, abuse, or violations of our terms.
Business Transfers
If Tassel is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to the commitments in this Policy.
Tassel does not sell personal information. We do not rent or trade personal information for third-party marketing purposes.
5. Data Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information, including encryption in transit, access controls, role-based permissions, audit logging, and secure cloud infrastructure. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of information transmitted to or from the Service.
6. Data Retention
We retain School Data for as long as the School's subscription is active or as needed to provide the Service. Following termination, we return or delete School Data as described in the School Subscription Agreement. We may retain limited information as required by law or for legitimate business purposes such as fraud prevention, dispute resolution, and enforcement of our agreements.
7. User Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal information, or to receive a copy in a portable format. Because Schools control most information in PAN™, we typically direct requests to the applicable School. You may also contact us at andy.lynch@tasselmarketing.com and we will assist the School in responding.
8. Children's Privacy
PAN™ is a platform used by K–12 schools and their adult Authorized Users and prospective families. It is not directed to children under 13, and children do not create accounts. Schools may include limited information about their students (such as first name, grade, and interests) to support ambassador matching. Schools remain responsible for parental notice and consent required under COPPA, FERPA, and applicable state laws.
9. International Users
Tassel is based in the United States, and the Service is operated from the United States. If you access PAN™ from outside the United States, you understand that information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, which may have data protection laws that differ from those of your jurisdiction.
10. U.S. State Privacy Rights
Residents of certain U.S. states (including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, and others as laws take effect) may have additional rights, including the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion, correct inaccurate information, opt out of certain processing, and not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. To exercise these rights, contact your School (as the controller of your information) or email us at andy.lynch@tasselmarketing.com. Tassel does not sell personal information and does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the Effective Date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice through the Service or by email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
